Download Free House Music | Dj Case

Hi fellow house-mates =) For those of you who have recently joined us and didn’t have a chance to explore our website more thoroughly here’s a little hint – we’re not only posting house music for downloading here at dj case, but we actually teach people where they can download some fresh tracks by themselves in case they are not completely satisfied with what we offer here =)

Under the cut is our inner view of downloading music via DC++ software also known as Direct Connection.

Direct Connect (DC) – is a kinda partially centralized file sharing network but, unlike the SoulSeek, you can find pretty much everything there (starting from music and up to the top secret files of Pentagon. rofl).

To be able to do that, you must be connected to a network server, the so-called hub.

You can connect to several hubs at a time. Hubs are usually devoted to a specific topic (genre of music, movies, games), which allows users to easily find what they need.

DC is pretty a good piece of software for a dj. You can download large folders with music at one click, search files by their parent folder name, browse user’s files and many more.
Some hubs have bots, ready to tell you of the new releases or explain you the rules.
But still the main advantage is very huuuuge archive of music!!!!

1. There are DC clients for Win, MacOS and even Linux. Just pick what you need and lets go!

Our choice is the good old DC++ which you can download HERE.
Strong DC ++ – is kinda second best and its HERE

Truthfully they do not differ much.
And no, we won’t go though the installation process, hoping that you all are smart enough to do that on your own =)

2. Upon the first launch the setup window will appear. Otherwise – click File -> Settings.

You need to specify your Nickname and folders to share and upload to.
Folder settings can be found under “Downloads” section to the left.
Don’t forget to set your “Limits” (“0″ is no restriction).

3. Under “Sharing” you need to specify some of your folders that you can share with the rest of the world. Each hub sets its own content sharing minimum. If your share is less than that – noone will let you in.
So you better download several gigabytes of house music from Blogs & Forums, for kinda 1gb of shared music is not very respectable in hubs. People are sharing tons and tons of music there.

4. Let’s connect to the hub now. To do this, click on the “Favorite hubs” icon

Then go to “Add new” and fill in the form. “Identification” is for registered users only (see help FAQ of a specific hub), but in most cases no registration required.

Click “Ok” and the new hub will appear in your favorites list. Double-click it to connect. If everything is alright you will be connected immediately!

The main window is divided into several parts:
• Main chat window – it’s where all buzz is going
• Upload/Download status window – shows your current transfers
• Userlist – what’s that? lol

Using the magic right-click function of your powerful mouse on user names you can send them private messages and browse their files.

Mostly all downloads are done through Search. I think there’s no need to get in details about the process.
And yeah, don’t be afraid to quit DC while file transfers are still in progress, it supports Resume function.

Your “Download Queue” list is under the button, which looks like this

You can always delete files from the queue if you no longer need them to be downloaded.

Please don’t forget that each hub has its own list of rules, which you are obliged to follow. The rules are usually sent to you by a bot automatically when entering a hub. Some hubs have a restriction of what files you can share, so don’t share porn if you’re not on porn hub (you little bastards LOL).

You’ll probably notice “no free slots” message appearing from time to time in Download Status window. The number of the opened slots determines how many people can download from you simultaneously. So if you see this message it means that the owner of the file has all his slots already taken by other people so you need to wait for someone to finish his downloads, or you can either contact the owner of the file via private message and ask for an extra slot.

Seems that we’ve covered all the basics of downloading music with DC++ software. Believe me, there’s so much free house music in there, that you better buy yourself a new HDD.. lol
